SAFF Canada Mission Statement
SAFF Canada South Asian Film Festival is committed to engaging the dynamic South Asian community, while using the Festival as a vibrant and critical social and cultural bridge to the Non-South Asian community-at-large.
Nothing brings communities together in the way that film does. By sharing our stories; our challenges, our triumphs, our hopes, our fears and our common experiences, we build a greater understanding of and respect for one another.
SAFF Canada’s Educational component engages students in British Columbia, Washington State and South Asia. We have created Master Classes, Public Forums and Round Table Discussions that are available live in person, or via web and podcasts, webinars and video conference. These programs are available during the Festival and throughout the year.
SAFF Canada champions young filmmakers in South Asia and their Canadian peers. We honour established filmmakers, and network them with a new generation of filmmakers who are picking up the torch. We facilitate new mentorships, collaborations and partnerships.
ENTERTAIN, ENGAGE, EMBRACE, EDUCATE and INSPIRE is Our Mission and Our Passion.
